CC IT (Corporate Center IT) is a cross divisional technology organisation providing support to all divisions of UBS (IB, WMSB, WMA and GAM). The remit of CC IT covers Group Finance IT and Regulatory Change, HR IT, Risk IT, Legal Compliance IT, Records Management IT, Group Data Strategy Reconciliations IT and Group Technology BCM Sectors for a total workforce size of nearly 2,200 internal and external staff. CC IT is responsible for nearly 600 different business applications, many with multiple components and supporting critical aspects of the Bank’s operations Front To Back such as Front Office risk platforms, Middle Office compliance and monitoring activities and Back Office reconciliations and financial accounting.

The CC IT Sourcing Specialist will take responsibility for managing the engagement between the vendors who supply these staff and the teams that use their services, owning all aspects of the relationship from identifying opportunities through managing the approval process flow and then managing the commercial aspects of the on-going service provision (such as ensuring compliance with commercial terms, managing the implementation of risk/reward structures, etc.).

Key activities and responsibilities will include:

- End to end management of the external engagement process from the identification of a suitable supplier, through the approval and task order review process to the final approval signature
- Working closely with the UBS team leads and Delivery Managers to resolve issues in the delivery of development and testing services from the external suppliers including communications, technology, strategy, problem solving and navigating the UBS and CC IT organisations
- Support the CC IT Sourcing and Vendor Management Lead with the development and implementation of the CC IT sourcing strategy including providing guidance and assistance to those who are non-compliant
- Being aware of the strategic business priorities and technology direction of all the CC IT Sectors to be able to advise and guide the team in their sourcing decisions
- Ensuring the engagements are operating within the commercial parameters of the agreement and taking steps to enable this to be rectified where this is not the case, e.g. where payment milestones are not met, SLA measurements are below expectations, staff turnover is above agreed limits, etc.
- Running external vendor selection exercises with and on behalf of CC IT areas including RFI / RFP design operation and decision making
- Address quality concerns expressed by CC IT functions by performing reviews of external staff / teams and suggesting improvement measures they can adopt
- Implementing and improving SLA / KPI / other reporting from external teams and providing commentary or guidance as to interpretation and actions required to improve delivery

Requirements

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Ability to work without constant guidance and to “own” their area of responsibility
- Prior experience of IT outsourcing arrangements either from a sourcing perspective or from being involved in their establishment and operation. Multiple engagements with different vendors would be ideal
- Project management experience and the ability to influence decision making by others
- Experience of preparing, reviewing and editing task orders, statements of work and other contractual documents
- Experience of analysing data sets (such as SLAs, workforce data, etc.), extracting key points for presentation and preparing action plans to remediate issues
- Experience of being involved with and negotiating large deals (USD 1M+) with major IT providers is an advantage but not essential
