Sovereign Credit Analyst recruitment
Reporting to the Head of Fixed Income, Asia
- Ability to effectively articulate an investment thesis and recommendation
- Analyse and make investment recommendations for global sovereign and financial issuers in developing countries.
- Apart from sovereign external credit analysis, track and analyse important factors (economic data, fiscal and monetary policy, valuations, yield curve analysis and technical demand supply factors) which have a bearing on local (domestic) interest rates and FX trends across various Asian countries
- Assist in the development of investment processes, rates and FX models and scoring methodologies for evaluating relative value for local rates and FX across Asian countries
- Actively participate with portfolio managers and traders in strategy sessions that address credit trends, local interest rate and FX trends, investment decisions and asset allocation
- Make explicit bond recommendations to portfolio managers
- Work collaboratively with other sovereign and financial analysts in the global fixed income team quant group on macro economic models
- Work with credit analysts on sovereign related issues affecting the companies they cover
The Successful Applicant
- Degree or equivalent experience, ideally CFA Charterholder
- 5 - 7 years demonstrated and relevant experience as a sovereign analyst
- Experience in Marco economic or FX/Rates Strategist is a Plus
- Ideally you will have deep knowledge and experience of Asian sovereigns, and working knowledge of fixed income markets and techniques
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of macro economic concepts and financial statements • Knowledge and experience in assessing banking systems
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written – as well as the capacity to build relationships and make a contribution
- Willingness to international travel
