Space Control Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Provide mechanical and fabrication engineering support, technical expertise, and counsel to the Space C2 and Surveillance Division Program Office (PO). Provide technical oversight/input during each phase of project execution (planning, requirements development, build, testing, and final acceptance) to ensure project stays within boundaries of scope, time, and cost while still meeting quality standards. Support all aspects of product development including conceptualization, design, analysis, prototype product, and testing in a cross-functional team environment. Review and evaluate system technical specifications, designs, interfaces, analyses, test plans/procedures/results, technical earned value and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) artifacts, risk assessments, and technical data packages for the determination of compliance with loading (weight/volume), heating/cooling, ventilation, electrical/acoustic shielding, fire suppression, and power requirements, and other appropriate engineering factors. Work Environment: Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. Other Essential Functions: Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to travel when necessary to accommodate customer and program requirements. The position for which you are applying requires a US government security clearance.
