BACKGROUND:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
MS in Aerospace, Mechanical or Engineering Electrical engineering with a demonstrated track record of developing space flight hardware required. Must be United States Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident Alien.
DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:
The spaceflight hardware project engineer will be responsible for managing one (or more) small hardware development programs valued at Experience working in small teams is required.
SKILLS NEEDED:
Project Engineer will plan, organize and manage all phases of the development effort. Must have proven ability to plan, organize and manage complex hardware / system development programs, including all associated contractual, technical, financial, cost / schedule performance elements. Must have capability to effectively coordinate with numerous internal and external entities and directly interfacing with the customer on all program related issues. Several years of experience managing space qualified hardware / avionics / electronics development projects is required.
The ideal candidate will have direct spacecraft operational and avionics / electronics design, fabrication, test and integration experience. This includes executing all elements of the product design cycle including:
· Specification development
· System architecture development (system schematics)
· PCB Design, Fabrication and Test
· Software Development, Test and Qualification
· Test plan development and execution
· Environmental Qualification
· Spacecraft / Enclosure design / fabrication / integration
Experience managing vendors and system developers is required. Working knowledge of financial, EVMS, procurement and contract processes is highly desired.
