West Houston Medical Center - Houston (00417) 12141 Richmond Avenue Houston, 77082 The Special Procedures registered nurse reports directly to the unit Clinical Manager, and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act, physicians' orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN desired. Current California Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR card. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider or Instructor card preferred. Must complete ACLS certification within one month of hire date. Passing score of at least 80% on the Los Robles Regional Medical Center pharmacology exam (new employees). WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside - Worker spends approximately 100% of time inside. Inside work has good ventilation and comfortable temperatures. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING /CONDITION Primarily works indoors in well-lighted and ventilated rooms. Temperature can be variable but primarily constant at a comfortable level. Frequent contact with water and other liquids. Maybe subjected to disagreeable odors. Hazards include: oRisk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. oRisk of exposure to communicable diseases. oRisk of exposure to sharp instruments and contaminated equipment. oExposure to chemicals as listed in the MSDS manual. oFrequent contact with fumes. oMay be exposed to abusive and violent behaviors. oRisk of exposure to radiation.
