Special Projects Accountant
A successful and well established housing association are looking to recruit a qualified accountant as a special projects accountant. This position will be based at either their Blackburn or Rossendale office.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial information in respect of the companies you will be responsible for. You will assist budget holders and provide advice and guidance to the management teams within the organisation. You will fulfil the legal and regulatory requirements of the companies.
Other key duties will include: monitoring JV's and preparing information as and when required, PFI's, looking at new projects working with the leadership team, evaluating schemes from a financial stand point, development appraisals,production of the annual budget, production of monthly management accounts, including cash flow forecasts. You will assist in the production of the annual accounts and financial statements. From time to time you will be involved in specific projects and assist with financial planning.
The successful candidate will have to liaise with Senior management, auditors and other internal/external stakeholders so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have previous experience of working in a busy finance department and preferably with Housing or a public services/not for profit background
