As a senior member of the Data Management team reporting to the Superintendent Geoscientific Data Management., the primary purpose of this role is to provide specialist knowledge and system development. This role will also involve mentoring for junior members of the team and database administration when required.
 
This position is responsible for developing both the offline and online SQL Server environments.  There will be a focus on innovation with regards to developing new methods to capture and deliver data. There will also be focus on the investigation and demonstration of new technologies that serve to link offline and online environments and enhance data capture and delivery.
 
Key accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Being the primary driver behind the development and implementation of improvements to the Evaluation/Estimation drill hole database.
  • Providing input into decisions concerning common business procedures across the Resource Development group.
  • Assisting in the compilation of internal training and support for personnel involved in the process and use of the associated technologies.
  • Ensuring the quality and timeliness of the response to requests for delivery of data updates from key stakeholders.
  • Lead Geoscientific database projects across a variety of key stakeholders and functional groups inside of the division.
  • Continuous improvement and system development of Geoscientific data systems.
  • Reconciliation of data relationships and database integrity.

 
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Geology, Geo-science, Mining or Computer Science. Candidates should have sound experience within a similar role and those with experience in a mining environment will be highly regarded although this is not essential.
Solid Microsoft SQL Server experience is essential and applicants should have good experience providing database solutions to meet customer needs. acQuire geological database software experience is desirable.
