Location: Doncaster - Commutable from: Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Wakefield – Relocation package will be offered for the ideal candidate
Salary: Circa £90,000 (A six-figure package is available to exceptional candidates)

Job Role / Key Accountabilities:

The Speciality Doctor will be responsible for the co-ordination of the day-to-day psychiatric management of patients, under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist. As such, the Speciality Doctor will undertake the day-to-day co-ordination of treatment. Other primary duties are detailed below:
• The Speciality Doctor will provide medical care in respect of psychiatric and physical health.
• The Speciality Doctor will be clinically responsible for to their consultant colleague and will be supported in respect of professional issues by the Medical Director.
• The Speciality Doctor will participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and regular Care Programme Approach reviews / case conferences.
• The Speciality Doctor will, under appropriate supervision, assist the Consultant Psychiatrist in the preparation of reports for case conferences.
• The Speciality Doctor will ensure that the required clinical risk assessments remain current for the patients under their care.
• The Speciality Doctor will attend managers’ meetings as requested by the consultant.
• The on call rota is weekly, 1:3

Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of their expertise to conduct needs based assessment and the treatment of patients suffering from a variety of mental health difficulties. A

Technical Competencies:
• Registered Medical Practitioner (Essential)
• At least 12-18 months experience of psychiatry at SHO/Staff Grade/Registrar level (Essential)
• MBBS (Desirable)
• Experience of Psychiatry MRCPsych (Desirable)
• Eligibility for approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act, 1983 (Desirable)

The post holder will be eligible for an excellent employment package which is negotiable. Cheswold Park will also support training in areas such as research, service development and management experience that other providers may find very difficult to deliver. The Hospital will also support the post holder in terms of preparing for their membership of the Royal College of Psychiatry exams if required.
