Supervises staff and operations in support of the engineering department, related to power, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems. Participates in maintaining Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies standards and practices. 1. Supervises and analyzes plant operations to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency while minimizing expenses. Supervises projects to ensure timely completion. 2. Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff. 3. Identifies appropriate equipment and supply inventory levels; establishes par levels and oversees processes that ensure their maintenance. 4. Conducts annual risk assessment of all equipment in the inventory. Ensures preventive maintenance programs on all new and existing equipment complies with manufacturers specifications. Maintains and archives records. 5. Utilizes maintenance management request tracking system to monitor and distribute work orders. 6. Performs facility tours to ensure quality, service, and production standards. Makes recommendations for corrective action and participates in implementing plans, as necessary. 7. Builds and maintains productive inter/intra departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations. Promotes teamwork. 8. Responds to and facilitates the resolution of problems and complaints. 9. Ensures compliance with government and agency regulations. 10. Performs related duties, as required.
