Job Description Norton Data Services Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The Norton Data Services team is focused on creating consumer-oriented apps delivered ‘from the cloud’ enabling people to socialize, share, access and protect their personal digital libraries.  These digital libraries encompass all digital data that is important to a consumer, whether its data they license or create themselves, or digital memories they wish to preserve.

We are looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to help continue to build quality into our exciting product line up. Our products require extensive automation talent,  deep technical knowledge of backend systems and the desire to build the best quality in everything we do!

 

Candidates should be well-versed in testing of software and systems and will possess the technical skills necessary to guide the effort to target and expose deficiencies, localize failures, perform fault diagnosis, and propose and select test strategies.

 

Outstanding candidates will have experience in all phases of the system test lifecycle including test strategy, test preparation and planning, test data management, test execution and test results reporting as well as experience in the development of in house test automation tools.

Job Responsibilities

 

·         As a SQA Engineer, you will help design, develop and maintain our automation.

·         Work with requirements to develop test scenarios and test cases.

·         Software Inspection and Review

·         Development and execution of Test Plan

·         Development, implementation and maintenance of in house, proprietary automation tools

·         Be comfortable working in a fast paced environment that iterates and evolves rapidly

·         Execution of tests cases (both manual and automated), reporting defects, certification and closure

·         Write excellent test plans and strategy documents

·         Communicate testing process and results to cross functional teams

 

Required Qualifications   Skill Sets

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred

·         At least 5 years experience in a software testing role

·         Strong experience with QTP and/or TestComplete

·         Strong Knowledge in Selenium

·         Strong Knowledge in JUnit and JMeter

·         Knowledge in Squish and Robotium is a plus

·         Strong Knowledge in JavaScript

·         Expert knowledge of VB Script

·         Experience testing dynamic websites with a server-side scripting framework such as Ruby on Rails, Python, PHP or ASP.NET

·         Experience with Ruby or a strong desire to learn it

·         C++, C# , Java and .Net development knowledge is a plus

·         Experience with SQL queries and direct database testing

·         Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and technology

·         Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information

·         Comfortable in a fast-paced and challenging environment and multiple projects

·         Analytical and detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
