SQL Database Developer (BI / SSIS)
A global retail wholesale organisation is actively seeking a passionate SQL BI Developer to join their technically outstanding IT team, at a time of phenomenal growth. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity, where you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the organisation.
Your role will focus on developing the reporting capabilities, helping to make them first class and ensuring cross-functional teams receive the data that they need. You will be gathering technical requirements designing, implementing, testing and maintaining solutions. Therefore strong communication skills are a must as you will liaise with stakeholders at different seniority levels in order to translate their needs into solutions.
As an organisation they have access to a wide remit to use them on interesting work. Using cutting edge research and technology they are able to build exciting new ways to capture data and deliver technically complex sleek visualisations of the organisation.
Main Responsibilities will include:
• Design data models based on requirements
• Development and maintenance of ETL processes
• Facilitating the process of systems design and architecture
• Development of reports in Microstrategy
• Be able to perform ETL development tasks using SSIS, role will also involves creation of BI data cubes
Candidate Background:
• The ideal candidate will come from a Strong SQL Server development background
• Development experience SQL Server and SSIS
• Excellent T-SQL Scripting experience
• Proficient with a BI tool i.e Microstrategy or Business Objects is desirable
• Ideally have retail or wholsale sector experience although this is not essential
• Must be a logical thinker and have the ability to translate user requirements into reports and processes
