My client is a small, friendly data mining, analyst and management company within the global games industry with a worldwide client base. We specialise in providing games related information from numerous sources including websites, printed media, industry organisations and consumers. We are now looking to expand our team due to development of a number of projects.
As a SQL Database Developer you will be helping to and once trained be responsible for the outlining, developing and maintaining our internal back office data processing system. In addition you will be required to develop integrated systems with our online website in order to ease and expedite the processing of data to our subscription online engine, in budget and to exceptional quality. From day one, you will be involved in a fast moving and creative environment, working alongside a team of industry specialists, administration teams and a Senior Website engineer. You would create, document and implement standards and/or modelling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database. Programs and writes codes as necessary

- Analyzes the needs and requirements of users of existing and proposed database systems and develops technical, structural and organizational specifications to include access methods, access time, statistical methodologies, device allocation, validation checks, protection and security.
- Designs, develops, implements and maintains moderately complex database for internal/external users.
- Creates, documents and implements standards and/or modelling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database.
- Programs and writes codes as necessary. Develops data import and export routines to automate data loading. Builds windows, screens and reports.
- Develops back-up and recovery procedures and data archive/purge procedures. Creates supporting technical documentation.
- Remains abreast of and analyzes new and emerging technologies and tools for applicability to field. Prepares reports and/or recommendations of new and/or changing processes/products.

Qualifications
- Database engineering, design, development experience
- Relative database and SQL exposure.
- Exposure to code complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Knowledge of XML.
- Knowledge of databases.
- Knowledge of database design, SQL, stored procedures.
- Demonstrate performance tuning including both query and server optimization.
- Monitoring and analyzing SQL Server production metrics.
- Design and maintain a large database;
- Design and code a large number of SQL Queries and stored procedures;
- Monitoring and performance tuning large jobs;
- Assure the quality of the new Data Warehouse.
- Working with relational data modelling
- Working with data warehousing
- Working with relational databases such as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, etc.
- Working with database development methodologies, design and implementation
