SQL Developer

Kforce is currently seeking SQL DB Developers in South Denver, Colorado. The Database (DB) Developer II will be responsible for responding to ad hoc and project-driven database development requests as well as database user support activities. The DB Developer II plays an important role in the design, development and application of database standards, techniques, methodology, process management, tools and quality improvement initiatives. The DB Developer II will drive the continual tuning and improvement of DB structure and processes and should have proven success on large initiatives with extensive knowledge of SQL DB systems. The DB Developer II will be client facing and must have clear and concise communication skills. Main Duties: * Responsible for the design, development, and support of the Database environment * Works with business units to gather and understand requirements, rules and processes as inputs for the design and architecture of Database solutions * Communicates status of projects, issues and solutions to project managers, software developers and project stakeholders * Evaluates and delivers enterprise-wide toolsets for varying user aptitudes * Participates in the design of database architecture and integration solutions to meet the needs, and is involved in code/design reviews with the QA and Software Development teams * Authors the definition, design and implementation of logical and physical data models * Participates with Development team in debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting the database environment * Participates and improves database development processes, and optimize performance of existing data structures * Contributes to the design and implementation of data quality and data auditing processes * Depicts highly complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and direction to project team and management Qualifications: * 3-5 years of back-end application development using SQL, Stored Procedures, triggers, functions, indexes, synonyms, views, tables, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. * 3-5 years of DBA experience with SQL Server databases including set up, performance enhancement, stored procedure development, storage hardware, migration and maintenance * 2-3 years experience with integration tools desired (SSIS, Pervasive, Informatica, Cast Iron, et al) * Microsoft certification (MCDBA, MCTS: SQL, MCSA, MCITP, MCM : SQL, MCA or other certification relevant to this job description) . * 1+ years of SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 experience required. * Experience with setup, administration and optimization of SQL Server high availability technologies (clustering, mirroring, replication, etc). * Comprehensive Windows Server operating system administration skills. * Familiarity with Agile project management methodology * Strong written and verbal communications skills. * Proven ability to work with developers, testers, and other through the product lifecycle. * Able to learn and adapt to new technologies through self-directed training. * Experience in Payment Processing, Sales, or Finance a plus * Comfortable translating business requirements into database designs Skills/Abilities * Strong written and oral communications * Thorough reading comprehension * Proactive troubleshooting, listening and problem solving skills * Critical thinking using logic and reason * Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines * Maintain regular and punctual attendance * Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment * Ability to sit for long periods of time * Ability to interact with a diverse population * Ability to work on computer for long periods of time * Ability to accept and evolve with changes in policies and procedures
