SQL Developer/Data Analyst
Job Description:
Position Summary:
This position will work with the SQL Development group on data analysis, revising inbound corrupted data, eliminating data redundancy, ensuring data integrity and encryption of outbound data, and using SQL performance tuning tools to improve overall database performance.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform database analysis to improve functionality and optimize performance of existing applications.
-Extract, transform and load data files of various data formats into SQL server databases
- Design, develop and test processes which include the creation of SQL views, scripts, stored procedures and SSIS packages to accommodate recurring data requests
- Extract data from SQL databases using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and SSIS packages
-Export and reformat data according to predetermined file layouts and specifications
-Perform maintenance of existing SQL databases
-Provide technical assistance to other IT staff relevant to database technology
-Assist with data entry as needed
-Other tasks as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Three to Five years relevant data analysis and query development experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, sub-queries and views
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
-Knowledge of relational database concepts
- Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 or 2008, Transact-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio preferred
-Experience with healthcare claims and eligibility data required
-Experience with outbound data encryption a plus
