SQL Server Database Administrator / SQL Server DBA

CIBER is seeking a SQL Server DBA to assist with installing, managing and maintaining local and remote SQL Servers. This candidate will also assist in troubleshooting SQL Server performance issues, implementing and managing SQL Server security, optimizing SQL Server queries and stored procedures and in developing SQL maintenance plans and complex queries. We are looking for an outgoing candidate with excellent communication skills as they will be interacting with groups across the organization. Install, manage and maintain local and remote SQL Servers. Assist in troubleshooting SQL Server performance issues. Implement and manage SQL Server security. Assist operations employees in optimization of SQL Server queries and stored procedures. Responsible for SQL Server maintenance plans and development of complex queries. Set up, configure and support the local area network for the assigned office(s). Responsible for troubleshooting, setting up new users, monitoring server activity, rebuilding computers, and rebuilding servers. Provide on-going technical support and guidance to end-users including; maintaining passwords, loading specialized software, training, troubleshooting, maintaining email systems and printers. Execute system back up procedures and confirm proper completion. Restore databases, files and email accounts as needed. Manage accounts and resources, maintain server resources, and monitor server performance in order to successfully safeguard data in a Microsoft Windows Server environment. Learn new technologies and analyze their fit in the organization. Develop management reports of health metrics for the corporate computing environment. Required Skills: 2-5 years experience installing SQL Server and performing database administration functions. Experience with SQL Server 2005 is required. Ability to write complex SQL queries using TSQL. Experience with Windows 2003 and 2008 servers is required. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Ability to solve problems in a planned, systematic manner while maintaining an ability to think creatively to come up with out-of-the-box solutions. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Strong troubleshooting skills. High energy, self starter who enjoys learning new things and solving challenging problems. Ability to be fit for duty if required to work an on-call schedule above and beyond standard business hours. Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, applied math, computer science, applied science, MIS) from an accredited college or university.
