SQL Server DBA (Database Administrator) recruitment
My client is a leading financial organisation specialising in high frequency systematic trading. Currently one of the most reputable and profitable organisations in this field of trading and they are only expanding. Not only the on application development side, but in various other areas including databases where they are looking for an expert SQL Server (DBA) Database Administrator. You will need to come with experience in working in an extremely large data driven environment where optimisation is paramount to data processing and performance of the systems. This team will require the SQL Server DBA to work with the team lead and relieve them where necessary to perform production coverage and maintain any performance based enhancements.
The environment is a multi site SQL Server environment working on 2008 with some 2005 and you will have the responsibility of maintaining and supporting the replication environment, the SQL Mirrored environment, maintenance of the Log shipped Disaster Recovery server environment with the ability for fail over. Other key responsibilities will involve database and transaction back-ups, database security, and advising on design performance tuning and indexing issues with the development team.
You will have come from a parallel environment previously delivering the above in a live production environment on large multi-site SQL Server Databases. Scripting in Shell or Perl is essential as is T-SQL. You will be an expert level SQL Server DBA (database administrator) and will be able to advise both the business and technical staff of best Practices and deliverables moving forward. This role will provide utmost progression.
