SQL Server DBA

Job Summary
Be a part of a team that is responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring and supporting Sql Server databases for all locations of Davis +Henderson.

Job Description
• Support, administer and maintain the database environments running on Sql Server servers and databases.
• Trouble-shoot database problems as required.
• Create and configure databases as per requirement.
• Create new database environment (DEV/QA/UAT/Production) and maintain existing environments.
• Monitor, tune and troubleshoot existing databases.
• Configure and monitor backup of databases.
• Work closely with Project Managers and developers to ensure the right solution.
• Perform Releases and Implementation to all database environments.
• Participate as required in a 24-hour on-call support rotation.
• Maintain database security.
• Disaster Recovery planning and implementation.

Requirements
• University degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Microsoft certification for Database Administration.
• Minimum 7 years relevant work experience as a DBA using Sql Server 2000/2005/2008.
• Experience/knowledge with Clustering, Log Shipping, Database Mirroring and Replication.
• Experience with Windows shell and Transact-SQL scripting.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to adopt standards and system change implementation methodology.
• Strong analytical and technical trouble-shooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
