Senior SQL DBA Requirement
DBA skills required:
?DB Server architecture and design experience, implementation planning and estimate experience
?DB Server installs, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning experience
?Databases experience: SQL and Oracle. Secondary skills in DB2, Informix, My SQL, or Sybase is desired
?Primary role is Systems/UDB DBA. Secondary Application DBA skills are a bonus
?Platform experience (two or more): Windows, AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris. System Admin skills desired
Programming experience:
Perl, Shell scripting, C/C++, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, TR-SQL, ETL, other
?Specific DBA experience with: SQL DB Replication, SQL DB Mirroring, SQL Log Shipping, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Clustering, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Vault Audit Vault, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle GRID, SAN, Nimbus, STATSPACK, TKPROF and EXPLAINPLAN, etc.
Data Warehouse experience:
?DBA and Database Performance Management of Data Warehouse (DW) environments.
?DW report query optimization.
DW maintenance and operational best practices
Managed Services experience:
?Both Corporate and Consultant environment experience
?Remote DBA Management
?IT Service Management experience (e.g. ITSM best practices)
?Software Development and Technical Leadership experience (e.g. CMMI and PMP)
?Strong Written and Verbal communication skills
?DB architecture and design technical writing skills
?24x7 support; On-call rotation 2 weeks on, 4 weeks off
?Strong problem-solving skills
Business skills required:
?Strong business Subject Matter Expert knowledge in one or more of the following markets (Financial, Manufacturing, HealthCare, Media Entertainment, Non-Profit, Retail)
?Strong client communication skills (both executive level and technical level)
?Business Development skills (e.g. presenting, proposal writing, SOW and Contracts management)
?Strong DB Subject Matter Expertise to advise clients on Microsoft?s SQL Server technology roadmap, and Oracle/IBM DB2 technology roadmap; including migration strategies, function value add, and risks
