We are in search of a Senior Analyst for our client in San Francisco.
Position Summary
The Senior Analyst position to be filled will focus on researching, documenting and advising others on the accounting for various issues that arise during the course of business. The group works closely together on many issues; therefore the new senior analyst will be expected to contribute on a variety of issues that may arise (accounting for capital projects, regulatory accounting, revenue/expense recognition (including contingent losses), debt/financing accounting, partnership/subsidiary accounting, power procurement contract accounting, derivative accounting, pension and share-based compensation). Other responsibilities include tracking emerging accounting standards, writing accounting policies, and training other groups in specific accounting standards, as assigned.
Responsibilities
Prepares complex 10-Q 10-K reporting disclosures and supporting workpaper documentation.
Prepares financial statements and disclosures for various non-SEC reporting requirements (e.g., FERC, CPUC, employee benefit plans, NDT) and supporting workpaper documentation.
Assists in setup of processes, procedures and other improvement efficiencies.
Identifies process improvements to reduce risk and create efficiencies at the desk level.
Assists in the implementation of process improvement initiatives undertaken by the department.
Reviews and interprets policies, reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
Identifies issues, proposes solutions, and documents conclusions with minimal supervision.
Manages communication with external parties (e.g. Deloitte) and addresses inquiries.
Interprets data, reports and records for managers/stakeholders.
Provides supporting documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
