Sr. Admixture Pharmacy Technician
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the preparation of sterile products including but not limited to: antibiotics, antineoplastics, total parenteral nutrition, large volume parenterals, pain medications sterile ophthalmic preparations. Maintains required patient records profiles. Arranges packing, shipping delivery of completed products. Coordinates the efficient operation of IV admixture service.
Essential Functions:
- Aseptically prepares all sterile admixture requests for members upon receipt of physician orders from clinical areas infusion centers.
- Assists the IV pharmacist in receiving prescription orders for oncology infusion therapy both for internal external referrals, Maintains patient profile records prescription files where appropriate. Keeps pharmacist apprised of patient problems or problems in the operation of the service.
- Orders maintains appropriate stock levels of IV drugs supplies in compliance w/ contracts. Assists w/ the proper accounting transfer of IV pharmaceuticals to infusion therapy oncology cost centers.
- Works cooperatively w/ oncology infusion center personnel to identify special needs or changing dems in drugs IV medical supplies.
- Maintains appropriate logs cleaning records of biomedical (pumps) equipment. Arranges for preventative maintenance inspection.
- Carries out various quality assurance procedures including laminar-flow hood cleaning, repairs inspection, including biological laboratory testing.
- Assembles supplies arranges for proper delivery or pickup of home infusion medications supplies.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the admixture machinery keeps IV room properly stocked w/ supplies.
- Assists in aseptic technique training of new pharmacy trainees.
- Performs special duties projects as required.

Schedule Details:
- This postition has a rotating schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- This is a Part-Time position with expectation to staff at multiple infusion pharmacies within Maryland and the District of Columbia regions.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Active CPHT certification required.
- Compliance w/ all state board of pharmacy rules licensing requirements where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or U.S. military program highly desirable.
- Infusion and Oncology pharmacy experience.
