Sr. AIX Systems Engineer
Become a member of 3 systems engineering / admin team in helping to design, implement and operate development and test systems to support
J2EE web based Medicaid Claims Payment app running primarily on IBM hardware (P5 / P6 / P7) and AIX (5.3 / 6.1).
· Possess 5+ years minimum of fluent AIX administration experience on IBM P-series hardware
· Must be familiar with remote administration of systems located in remote data-centers using tools such as IBM HMC
· Must be familiar with IBM virtualization technologies such as LPARs and WPARs
· Must be able to work with IT data-center resources in helping to provision network and assign IP addresses, and SAN-attached storage by providing them with system world-wide names for SAN storage disk (LUN) presentation
· Familiarity with multi-platform storage environments a plus - particularly Hitachi, NetApp, EMC provisioning on IBM P-series running AIX
· Must be comfortable with day to day operational tasks such as patching, configuration, user administration using LDAP, DNS name resolution, xNTP time synchronization, etc.
· Must be able to participate in performance testing and turning activities working with various cross-functional teams (app middle-ware, 3rd party COTS, and databases, etc)
· Experience working on AIX in a Websphere 6.x / 7.x environment a plus.
· Experience with Red-Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x and VMware on ESX/ESXi virtualization – a plus
