SSgA Data Systems team is seeking a highly motivated candidate to own, create, and deliver technology solutions and support for the Relational Index Tracking System - RITS.   RITS is the system of record responsible for tracking index constituents, weights, and security prices of all major indices in the financial industry.   It is a core system used by compliance, portfolio construction and performance. This role is well suited for candidates who want to combine technical/programming capabilities with finance knowledge.

Key Responsibilities include:

•Support and enhance the technical infrastructure and functionality of RITS applications
•Working with the business to deliver key initiatives to the MDS team
•Experience with Agile SDLC, specifically iteration through problem definition and requirements
•Experience working/coordinating with off-shore development teams.
•Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects or activities
•Production support of the RITS applications on a rotation basis

Skills and Experience:

•Strong database skills (Sybase and Oracle), 5+ years of experience
•Strong Java 6 (JSP, Struts), 5+ years of experience
•At least 1 Year of experience with Abinitio or comparable ETL platform

•Minimum of 1 year of Unix Shell scripting experience (nice to have)
•Experience with Autosys a plus
 

Competencies:

•Ability to own and drive tasks/assignments while collaborating with peers and other Technology teams
•Demonstrated ability to learn new business concepts and technologies quickly
•Persistence and Innovative - ability to get things done
•Preferably a history working in a financial services institution
•Knowledge of Index providers and market data vendor feeds a plus
