Your opportunity
The SAP engineer will work within the SAP team and is mainly responsible for developing, maintaining and operating the finance and logistics environments. He or she will work together with the other SAP specialists in the SAP team, with the application teams in Business Applications, with key users in the business of Finance. In general, we strive to provide key users with self-service processing facilities, and focus the IT efforts on building a solid foundation for them.
- Analyse functional requirements. Map them to standard functionalities available in SAP. Assess the level of fit. Determine the gap between requirements and available functionality. Identify the customisations needed, at the level of reports, FI/CO.
- Build the solution.
- Help end-users test the solution. Help to set up test data.
- Diagnose bugs and incidents. Trace unexpected results back to errors in the solution, or to errors in the source data or master data. Fix bugs and solve incidents.
- Support and maintenance activities
- Assist in doing deployments of new functionality, merging the work of multiple customisations/developers. Ensure a reliable and efficient deployment process.
- Do daily monitoring on all SAP environments. Ensure all SAP process run reliably and efficiently.
- Optimise monitoring processes.
- Configuration of small changes/settings
- Configurations of global template roll outs (eg. India plant)
Your profile
- B.E, B.Tech, M.Sc(Comp), or MCA
- 5+ years broad and in depth SAP knowledge and experience. This should be in the area of FI/CO. The expert needs to have proven experience in SAP configuration. For the FI/CO expert, he/she needs to have a proof record in setting up an India plant within SAP and knows the specific India related settings related to an India country setup in SAP (eg. tax/vat specific settings).
- Affinity with logistics modules if your core is FI/CO or vice versa.

- Solid experience in customising SAP FI/CO. Experience in all activities along the lifecycle: gathering requirements, writing functional and technical design, designing and developing solution, testing and deploying.
- Good experience in developing in ABAP for basic bug resolution and developing reports
- Preferably knowledge in the other modules out of your core expertise.
- Preferably Adobe forms knowledge
- Preferably experience in setting up India plant in SAP
- Preferably workflow and invoice scanning knowledge
- Ability to work independently, and report on status and planning of own work.
- Experience in validating requirements and mapping them to standard solutions.
- Experience in creating functional and technical design documents.
- Be able to work in a dynamic environment with evolving end-user demands. Be proactive in signalling false expectations and issues.
- Be able to work in a cross-geographical team. Understand who the other team members are, and reach out to them whenever required.
- Be persistent and analytical about solving bugs and incidents.
- Good English oral communication skills and used to work with European or US counterparties.
