The primary responsibility of this position is to lead development-facing, post-sales, advanced technical support activities directed towards customers who are modeling physical systems as part of the development of control systems. You will support engineers to use MathWorks physical modeling tools to model custom physical components (mechanical, electrical, and other physical domains) and assemble system-level models that span multiple physical domains and include the control system in a single environment.
In this position you will support all phases of Model-Based Design (including converting the physical system models to C code for deployment to other environments for tasks such as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

Responsibilities
1. Provide advanced technical post-sales support and guidance on issues
- Escalated from the technical support group
- Relating to the MathWorks major accounts
- Relating to a strategic Account, Application, or Industry
- Requiring the combination of customer application knowledge, industry knowledge, and MathWorks product knowledge.
2. Communicate and work together with MathWorks Development staff when inherent tool design knowledge is needed.
3. Provide the highest customer support level complimenting existing and standard technical support. Will work very closely with, and sometimes train, existing support specialists within the Technical Support organization.
4. Provide direct customer feedback to MathWorks development for future enhancements to products since customer interactions will be of the highest technical nature.
Qualified applicant must possess
- An advanced Engineering degree and experience in applying MathWorks tools to real-world engineering problems.
- A perfect fit would have previous experience modeling electro-mechanical systems using Simulink and the Simscape products.
Requirements:
- Practical experience in modeling, simulation, and control system design using Simulink
- Experience in modeling of electrical systems
- Experience in modeling multi-domain physical systems
- Excellent trouble-shooting, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates must be interested in working directly with customers to understand their real engineering challenges and to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in using MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape and Physical Modeling Tools
- Experience with Stateflow/Simulink Coder/Embedded Coder
- First hand experience or awareness of the design challenges within the Aerospace and/or Automotive industries
- Experience in behavioral modeling and the tradeoffs involving fidelity and complexity
- Awareness of embedded systems, RTOS knowledge, software implementation aspects, safety critical applications, production quality code, coding standards
