SR APPLICATION SUPPORT FOR CASH EQUITY OMS 200k BASE recruitment
This role is within the Equities trading floor of a large bulge bracket Investment bank. This position is for leading the support operation of the Bank’s program trading business unit. The position interacts with its algorithmic trading, dark liquidity, and smart order router technologies.
This is a high-profile team lead position on the trading floor responsible for leading, building and maintaining an effective, productive relationship with the program trading community. Duties include:
- Lead contact to resolve all problems and answer functional questions
- Ensure team logs and track all user related issues and work requests
- Detailed knowledge of all business flows, the application architecture and the hardware configuration for supported applications
- Take lead under crisis management situations and effectively advise and communicate to traders
- Drive and manage team technical deliverables in providing ad-hoc reporting and investigative support to business managers or compliance staff when existing systems are unable to provide the necessary data for these teams
- Hands on approach with the team to provide application software and hardware support
- Troubleshoot and research possible product bugs or failures
- Trace transactions through the system and conduct research beyond the basic scripts and monitoring / research tools provided
- Monitor applications and their associated hardware throughout the day using existing monitoring tools, identify intraday capacity issues
- Write basic to intermediate scripts to support their function
- Drive the development of tools needed to provide effective support
- Define new operating system, infrastructure, application and business oriented monitoring alerts and coordinate their integration into existing monitoring tools
- Escalate all unresolved issues to senior management
- Own the production environment and act as gate keeper for all changes:
- Approve all new releases and production configuration changes
- Ensure development includes all necessary documentation for each CR: release notes, test plan + scorecard, backout procedures etc.
- Implement all releases into production, conduct post-release testing
- Execute pre-determined back-out procedures (if required)
- Conduct reviews of all open production items with the dev team
- Conduct post-mortems
- Define and document procedures
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
- 5 years Equities experience
- 5 years technical experience
- 3 years financial industry experience supporting program trading desks
- Completing understanding of incident, problem and change management principles
- Preferred prior program trading experience
Thorough understanding of:
- Shell or Perl scripting
- SQL
- Unix
- Perl
- FIX protocol
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to Multitask
Ability to perform and communicate under pressure
- RVD/Tibco is plus
- Geneos ITRS is HUGE PLUS
