About the Job 

The Marketer is responsible for supporting the origination efforts of our Institutional Derivatives platform covering Interest Rates and Commodities with a primary focus on Industrial Metals.  Depending on experience, this individual could be one of the primary contacts for the Industrial Metals suite of products.

The work will be focused on educating internal and external clients as well as and structuring strategic solutions for entities with real exposure to commodities markets, specifically industrial metals.  The role will require supporting active clients as well as prospecting for additional opportunities within the franchise, and requires the ability to manage all facets of the hedging process.

Essential Job Functions 

• Individual will work in conjunction with Senior Marketers and Sales Manager to:

• Establish strong internal, customer-focused partnerships with banking teams

• Draw on the full resources of the company to provide high quality solutions and service to customers

• Assemble a diverse team to identify ways that our product, sales and service organizations work together to deliver value

• Gain insight on successes and challenges through client and partner feedback

• Identify new opportunities that add value for the customer in terms of the customers financial strategies, measures and profitability

• Establish client contacts to gather information and present ideas 

• Keep abreast of emerging customer trends; gather information to understand customer strategies and their view of market opportunities

• Ensure the integrity of the database

• Develop internal and external sales presentation skills

• Assist in projects, writing reports, pitch books and special assignments, as  appropriate

• Searches actively for efficiencies in the way our organization services customers.

• Demonstrates an understanding about our process; incorporating changes when necessary

• Serve as the key leader for client quality and service; act decisively to implement solutions and resolve crisis, and follows up to assure resolution

Required Qualifications 

• 2 to 3 years relevant metals and/or derivatives marketing experience.

• Experience with corporate risk management practices for industrial metals; in addition exposure to energy is preferable.

• Strong quantitative/analytical background

• Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word

• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work within a team based environment.

• Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA, Financial Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Working knowledge of primary drivers of commodity markets.

• Understanding of credit exposure modeling, CVA, and risk mitigation techniques for derivatives products.
