SR. BUSINESS ANALYST

Sr. Business Analyst San Mateo, CA Asurion Mobile Applications (AMA) is looking for a skilled Business Analyst to be part of a team supporting the customization and implementation of existing and new functionality for the AMA product suite. This is a senior level role that directly supports initiatives for our Product and Program management team as it relates to AMA enterprise products. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field 4+ years of experience in one of the following areas: Telecommunications industry, Application Development, Business/Systems Analysis, Process Engineering, or relevant IT discipline Practical experience in the use of Facilitation Techniques, Business Modeling, Requirements Analysis Management, Object-Oriented Analysis Design, Testing, and End-User Support Strong oral and written English language communication skills with the ability to communicate in both business and technical terms Strong Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis skills Excellent listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to exhibit a commanding presence when necessary Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Preferred Experience in Telecommunication, Insurance Claims, Mobile Applications, or Information Technology Experience in Software Development Lifecycle, both Waterfall and Iterative methodologies; Scrum with User Stories is a plus Responsibilities Obtain and maintain consensus among key stakeholders regarding the requirements to be implemented Organizing and preparing a structured set of requirements in the form of Business, Product, and Functional documents, Product and Sprint Backlogs, or other formal specifications Analyzing, specifying and modeling the requirements using a combination of techniques, including matrices, diagrams, models, to support the development process Manage priorities within the product backlogs, and collaborate in the planning design, development, and deployment of new features and enhancements Help identify and resolve system/product issues. Manage weekly meetings (Scrum or otherwise) to achieve goals Build strong relationship/rapport with the cross functional business teams Provide mentoring / on boarding for new or junior team members Assist program management with daily operations for product launches.= Ensure quality of the active SDLC artifacts collectively Wherewithal for presenting to peers, team or IT/Biz community on project status, technologies ideas, or other projects About Asurion Mobile Applications Asurion Mobile Applications (AMA) develops and manages industry leading applications that enable wireless subscribers to easily transfer their data to a new device if they lose, damage or replace their current device.
