Job Overview
The successful candidate must have direct relevant experience working with internal business users and business management as well as the broader IT community supporting the Project Phoenix solution. The Business Analyst will be responsible for owning the functional business requirements specifications, analyzing capability questions of the software, data, and process components of the solution, and respond to production and ongoing lifecycle maintenance, upgrade, and support topics. We expect the business analyst to be very familiar with project implementation methodologies and project management as well as familiar with the entire application lifecycle.

The Phoenix solution combines purpose-built applications including the Model N Revenue Management suite as well as standard upstream and downstream systems including ERP and CRM system.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with vendors including Model N to understand the existing in-place release as well as future releases of the Model N application suite
• Work with internal customers to document and maintain requirements for the entire Phoenix solution including the Model Component as well as systems integrated with it, and the business and operational processes and data encompassed by the system.
• Act as an ongoing business analyst subject matter expert
• Lead internal customers and partners through all lifecycle phases, including analyzing current business processes, new business requirements, documenting configuration and extension requirements for the application as well as data and integration requirements, and produce functional requirement documents
• Respond to business and technical issues throughout the product lifecycle, triage with the technical support teams and users to identify causes, propose workarounds and solutions, and escalate to other supporting resources on the application lifecycle management team
• Work with the technical team members during the problem resolution and test phases for individual issues and for planned lifecycle releases to clarify issues, manage and document changes when needed, and drive the functional testing by the technical and business resources

Experience/Skills/Education
• Passion for excellence in service delivery
• Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle and process improvement methodologies, including iterative development practices
• At least 5 years in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries supporting enterprise software implementations and/or operations
• At least 5 years experience with enterprise software lifecycles, either with a large life sciences enterprise, an enterprise software company, or a systems integrator or consulting organization
• Commitment to requirements management practices with the ability to control change and scope
• Excellent oral and written skills for use in writing detailed business requirements and presenting solutions to business and IT audiences
• B.A./B.S. preferably in a relevant area, e.g. Computer Science
• Understanding of web technologies. Knowledge of Oracle, web application servers, and Java/J2EE is a plus
• Preference for candidates with knowledge of Life Sciences pricing, contracting, and settlements, including the following:
o Knowledge of life sciences pricing structures and programs used in large pharma environments
o Knowledge of life sciences contracting practices and contract compliance management
o Knowledge of life sciences settlements and incentives practices, including but not limited to utilization based rebates/managed care, institutional rebates, chargebacks, fee for service, and Tricare rebates
• Self Starter accustomed to a fast paced environment
