TITLE: SENIOR BUYER - CTS
DEPT: OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
STATUS: EXEMPT
JOB SUMMARY:
Support all departments in the solicitation, purchase and follow-up of both production and non-production requirements. Be knowledgeable in outside markets, new suppliers and developing cost-saving projects.
INTERACTION WITH: All Departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review MRP daily to determine when new purchase orders are required.
2. Print and process purchase orders as required. Confirm all purchase orders.
3. Purchase MRO and production items for the facility (as required)
4. Communicate with internal requesters to support production and MRO by insuring deliveries with suppliers.
5. Expedite orders with suppliers as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager and as required by MRP.
6. Produce and maintain computerized open PO report and ensure at all times that most recent acknowledgement dates are updated in the ERP system.
7. Investigate and reconcile invoicing discrepancies.
8. Maintain ERP system parameters for replenishment and issue supplier forecasts
9. Communicate and resolve unacceptable product or identify opportunities to improve MRB quality, between internal quality control and suppliers.
10. Identify, summarize report to Quality manager current and potential quality issues
11. Responsible for commercial relationships with direct material and MRO suppliers.
12. Conduct the strategic sourcing process from sourcing strategy, spend and supplier analysis to negotiation and signed agreement.
13. Define supplier KPIs, measure and follow up supplier performance and contract compliance, conduct supplier audits and continuously assess supplier risks.
14. Proactively search for new (cost reduction) opportunities based on customer needs, supply market trends innovations and a total cost concept.
15. Together with other functions identify opportunities for parts rationalization and supply chain optimization.
16. Visit suppliers as required.
17. Other functions as required and assigned by the Director of Operations.
RECOMMENDED POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Four-year college degree.
2. CPIM or CPM Certification
3. Juvenile products industry and / or consumer products experience a plus
4. Experience with Asian sourcing and importing operations
5. Demonstrate initiative to improve skills.
6. Fluent in MRP, computerized purchasing, Excel and Word.
7. Five years experience in purchasing capacity.
8. Good negotiation skills.
9. Personal high level of integrity.
10. Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours to facilitate communications with overseas suppliers
