Sr Capital Equipment Electrical Engineer

This organization maintains a 90% share of their market and has a significant backlog of workhellip; The qualified candidate will work on electrical systems for large scale, high-precision capital equipment used in the data storage, LED and other industries. The engineer will work in a small team (of EEs, MEs and SW Engineers) developing electronic hardware at the systems and PCB levels. Will entail working with both digital and analog circuit design (not RF, and not chip/IC/ASIC level design). This opportunity provides opportunity to work on designing electronics for very complex machines with several hundred moving parts. Many sensors are part of these machines requiring closed loops. Also, the axis-range of motion is very small requiring very creative designs. Unconventional designs are required for complex motors and servo controls. Perform systems engineering/integration and cabling design. Essential functions of this challenging opportunity include the following: Analog and Digital circuit design and testing Knowledge of wide range of electrical components. Ability to select best electrical components to meet requirements PCB design and layout Design of conventional interconnect solutions and also novel approaches to signal interconnects Electronic systems design with respect to signal integrity best practice and verification Design of systems utilizing a wide array of motors and other actuating devices Systems design/architecture and electronic design with respect to a systems solution FPGA, CPLD, and/or other programmable logic design Cross functional systems design and test working closely with mechanical, software, and applications engineers Ability to write PCB specs to guide vendors performing PCBA design Ability to create detailed system-level schematics for complex capital equipment Knowledge of system safety interlock requirements, ability to design systems that comply with electrical safety requirements Ability to project manage several small to medium-sized projects Periodic reporting of project status to management To qualify for this exciting opportunity you should possess a BS in EE and 7+ years of related experience, or an MSEE and 5+ years of related experience, including: Proficiency with circuit design (analog and digital) at PCB level Capital equipment circuit design Concept-release product design cycle experience Systems design/architecture Cabling-interconnect design Good communications skills Green Card holder orUScitizenship Company offers comprehensive fringe benefits and a bonus/profit sharing plan.
