Under very general direction, this position is responsible for the implementation and administration of Aerojet’s Wireless network infrastructure. This position includes responsibilities for troubleshooting and maintenance of existing Firewalls, DMZ, WAN, LAN, WLAN and VPN environments. In addition this position requires recommending and designing new Wireless and RFID environments, Firewalls, DMZ,WAN, LAN, and VPN’s utilizing Cisco hardware. This position will operate as a Sr. Network Wireless Network Engineer evaluating requests from local administrators and identifying network hardware and/or systems problems. The candidate will collaborate closely with IT leadership throughout the US to ensure system performance and availability requirements are met. The position is also responsible for other system and network administration duties as requested by the Network Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical expertise and platform leadership in areas of Cisco WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN and Firewall technologies.
- Develop strategy, process, documentation, tools for deployment for the company wireless network systems.
- Act as the company ‘best-practice champion’ for the deployment of wireless technology/systems developing RFID services supporting both indoor and outdoor wireless network (802.11) integration.
- Assist in the formulation of Wireless policy and procedures.
- Project planning, resource allocation and documentation as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (Sciences or Engineering) and six years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience is required with Cisco VPN Concentrators, Firewalls, Routers, WLAN, Switches, and Load balancers.
- Strong hands-on routing knowledge of network/internet protocols/services such as 802.11a/b/g/n, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, DNS, IPSec, QoS, and NAT.
- Knowledge of electronic data transmission principles, LAN networks, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco Access Points and troubleshooting techniques is essential.
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) or equivalent (Cisco, CCNP, CCDP, and CCNA)

· A self-starter with strong work ethic and discipline to provide timely deliverables without reminders from leadership, staff or customers.
· Outstanding collaborative skills especially with internal / external Clinical and Technical personnel with the ability to manage and work as part of cross-functional teams.
· Must have the ability to work in a fast paced dynamic and growing IT environment and the flexibility to work with a wide range of technologies.
· Ability to lift 30 lbs.
· Ability to crawl into small spaces.
· Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet.
· Openness to being on-call at all times to support 24x7x365 operations.
· Must able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).
