Sr.Credit Analyst
Seagate
has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Credit Analyst at its executive
offices in Cupertino, CA. The role will report to the Corporate Finance Manager.
The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing credit
risks, assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to
potential customers.
In
addition, the Senior Credit Analyst will analyze credit data to determine the
degree of risk involved in extending credit. Make decisions to approve or deny
the extension of credit within set credit authority established by senior
management.
Responsibilities
include:

Manage trade credit in an assigned territory
·
Use sound judgment and experience to determine
customer creditworthiness based on financial statement analysis and other
qualitative factors, including discussions with customer base
·
Establish credit limits and take proactive steps
to mitigate risk and manage exposure to these limits
·
Communicate effectively and timely with senior
management level both internally and externally to drive credit issues
·
Complete credit reviews in a timely manner
·
Set up new customers in Oracle
· Provide
support to Sales, Account Management and Order Management personnel to control
credit exposure, effect timely payment, and minimize risk of customer disputes
·
Serve as an escalation point for the collection
and legal departments to place customers on credit hold or negotiate payments
plans
·
Report on credit risk to the Director of Global
Credit and senior management
· Manage credit
department policies and procedures, to include regularly updating policies,
training, communicating, and presenting to company personnel
· Provide
customer service and develop relationships with internal/external customers and
suppliers
· Participate in
major department projects and take an active role in cross-functional teams to
assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's
degree in Finance, Accounting or related - 5-7 years of applicable
experience in corporate credit risk analysis - Advanced financial statement
and cash flow analysis and modeling - Comprehensive understanding of accounting
principles in the interpretation of customer financial statements - Knowledge of and ability to
support the corporate collection process - Advanced Excel modeling skills
relative to the credit function
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA preferred, Accounting/Finance
emphasis preferred - Experience in Oracle is a
strong plus - Letter of credit and other
export credit security and knowledge (when applicable) - Excellent, professional
communication skills with commercial sensitivity, business acumen, and
good judgment - Ability to work in a fast-paced
environment and manage multiple requests for credit line adjustments while
maintaining a healthy credit risk/sales request balance - Demonstrated Effective Customer
Service Skills
