The Sr. Data Analyst - OPIR/ONIR (Sr. Multi-Disciplined Engineer I) provides subject matter expertise in Overhead Persistent Infrared Event extraction and analysis. Overhead Non-Imaging Infrared (ONIR) was recently renamed to Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR)
The Sr. Data Analyst will work as part of a dynamic team and perform OPIR intelligence data extraction and processing of real-time and off-line data using very specialized and highly complex software tools.
- Manipulate processing parameters for analytical assessment reports.
- Responsible for providing input to software developers regarding enhancements for hardware and software upgrades.
- Will represent the department regarding analytical issues, product reports, and other operations support tasks in communications with peers, other departments, and customers.
- Provides solutions to a variety of complex technical data analysis tasks and problems.
- Works under limited, and sometimes no supervision.
- Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
- Will work in an open environment where frequent and direct interaction and collaboration with customers and peers is ordinary.
- The employee must exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and strive to maintain constructive working relationships.
- The employee must work effectively and relate well with superiors, colleagues, and customers. Some limited domestic travel may be required.
- This position may require working a 12 hour rotating shift schedule.
- Must be willing and available to work a variety of fluctuating schedules - may be called upon to work overtime. This can include working days, weekends, and holidays.
Required Experience, Skills:
- 6 years of related work experience.
- Experience exploiting ONIR/OPIR data
- Experience with basic ONIR/OPIR extraction tools
- The ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical and non-technical information to customers and team members
- The ability to develop presentation content and brief customers and team members.
- Ability to represent the team regarding analytical issues, product reports, and other operations support tasks in communications with peers, other departments, and customers
- Ability to work effectively under limited supervision
- Must be willing and able to work non-traditional (possible shift work) 12 hour rotating shifts. This includes working nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Must be willing to work occasional overtime if required.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally - some limited domestic travel may be required.
- Requires an active or current (active within the last five years) TS/SCI SSBI security clearance.
Desired Experience, Skills, Knowledge:
- Completion of DoD level OPIR Course
- Experience with the Integrated ONIR TPED System (IOTS)
- Experience with GeoCompass
- Experience working in real-time decision making environment.
- Experience working in direct support of customers
- Ability to envision entire projects or planning initiatives from start to finish, and have the ability to ensure that vision is realized
- Strong leadership skills
- Training experience
- Typically, former military experience proves quite helpful
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors degree on an engineering subject, or equivalent work experience.
Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Requires an active or current (active within the last five years) TS/SCI SSBI security clearance.
