Sr. Database Adminstrator
Job Description: Creates designs for complex systems. Responsible for database administration tasks including software installation, database creation, sizing, schema development, backup and recovery planning. Perform advanced database performance monitoring and tuning. Operates independently on larger more complex projects. Possesses strong knowledge of Sqlserver and Windows including various Microsoft infrastructure technologies such as SCOM. Six to ten years of database management experience.
REQUIRED:
Prior technical leadership experience, providing direction to large technology program.
Outstanding leadership ability; able to motivate and lead project teams, collaborates well with others and drives teamwork.
Demonstrated passion, competence, experience, knowledge, and understanding of database management.
Demonstrated ability to act decisively and promptly.
Displays willingness to accept responsibility displays initiative, good judgment and a positive attitude.
Excellent problem solving skills. Willingness and drive for solving complex problems.
Candidate has 5-10 years of database management experience.
Experience with MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008.
Experience with MS SQL Server clustering, replication, mirroring, and log shipping for HA/DR purposes.
Database monitoring tool installation and configuration.
Experience with deploying SQL Server in a virtualized environment.
Experience with SSIS and DTS packages.
Experience with Windows scripting language such as VBScript or PowerShell.
Advanced T-SQL scripting experience.
Experience with job scheduling, automated administration, source code control, and change management in an enterprise environment.
PREFERRED
Bachelors Degree in Business, Information Management, or customer service field; or the equivalent in education and work experience.
Experienced in retail business systems and or processes.
Application development background, preferably parallel development.
