GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position leads RD sub programs for rooftops. The incumbent will be the platform leader for one of the four chassis in Trident track 2 focusing on how to optimize efficiency of the new generation rooftop.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsible for several components of a larger project (Trident)
- Contributes to their team or department by applying their knowledge of
Refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems and electronic control systems
- Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others
- Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project team member for the design, development and qualification of light commercial HVAC products including packaged rooftops and commercial split systems and their major sub-section and related sub-assemblies. Responsibilities include:
- Participate with a team of engineers and designers in the design development of new rooftop and commercial splits system products
- Help to coordinate projects with other development team members (Engineers, Designers, Lab Technicians Model Makers)

TYPICAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4 - 7+ years experience
- MA/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 - 5+ years experience

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge experience with the design qualification of refrigeration systems, fan systems, controls systems, and sheet metal cabinet design
- Previous relevant job history experience; relevant products can be both residential and/or commercial air conditioners (air cooled or water cooled), refrigerators, ice makers, refrigeration equipment, commercial chillers
- Project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead a development team and coach team members as required to meet project objectives
- Demonstrated creativity in new product design
- Strong working knowledge of the products, engineering design system and the ability to work within an engineering design team
- Working knowledge of industry test and safety standards
- Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact within a cross functional team of engineering, manufacturing marketing
- Demonstrated experience in continual process improvement (ACE)
- Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English required
