Sr. Director of Marketing
Shutterfly is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, action-oriented Sr. Director of eCommerce to drive the overall eCommerce Strategy, manage the Shutterfly Store, and lead the merchandising activity on the site. In this highly visible and strategic role you will lead a talented team of eCommerce and Site Merchandising Managers who create strategies and lead projects designed to maximize Shutterfly revenue and drive the overall Shutterfly business. We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about eCommerce and capable of driving cross-functional programs, building consensus, and using data to make fact-based decisions.
As a Director eCommerce you will partner closely with key business unit leaders to drive the on-site sales. You will be the expert on eCommerce strategies, customer targeting, testing and optimization, cross-selling and upselling, and all forms of on-site merchandising. You will be responsible for driving business growth and meeting customer and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Direct a highly talented team of eCommerce and Site Merchandising Managers
- Drive the overall eCommerce strategy for Shutterfly and lead all aspects of eCommerce planning. Propose projects for 12-18 month roadmap based on functional strategy, prioritization, and impact sizing.
- Drive quarterly, annual and long-term planning processes for e-Commerce plans and resource requirements.
- Set and hit revenue objectives for eCommerce and key sales programs
- Store Management – plan and execute setup and maintenance of the Shutterfly store to drive revenue through deployment of products, pricing and merchandising
- Site Testing and Optimization - Create monitor key eCommerce metrics funnels, identify prioritize opportunities for improvement, generate hypotheses on alternative approaches that could improve results, work with CRM and other marketing teams to establish testing plan for pricing and offers, execute reliable A/B or multi-variate testing, implement winners
- Merchandising - provide compelling, effective merchandising of the Shutterfly homepage and store; conduct regular competitive analysis on the best practices of key competitors and eCommerce leaders; create multi-year merchandising capabilities strategy (e.g. types of personalization needed), set clear, consistent business objectives for page zoning and creative execution, partner with Creative Services to deliver compelling merchandising content to achieve business goals.
- Product Planning - Serve as business lead for eCommerce roadmap projects. Develop business requirements documents and drive feature prioritization to optimize business impact and ROI.
- Ensure appropriate tracking and measurement mechanisms are in place to assess results of projects. Monitor and report on project results.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of online and e-Commerce experience including 5+ years of experience managing and leading teams
- Experience in working with eCommerce platforms and tools (shopping carts, promotion engines, cross-sell, attribute-based navigation, homepage re-designs, etc)
- Strong strategic thinking and analytic skills
- Passion and experience using funnel optimization to drive business results
- Experience in using tracking/analytics tools/solutions is a strong plus
- Experience with market research, competitive analysis and usability testing
- Ability to collaborate actively effectively on multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment
- Motivated, dynamic, creative and results-oriented
- MBA a plus
