JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to Vice President Hardware Engineering, responsible for Design and Development as well as sustaining engineering of electrical design of POS terminal devices, both existing products and future development.
Capable to perform both Analog and digital design, perform schematic capture, as well as hands on design verification and test.
Able to support product Electrical design Architecture through, defining architectures, selecting cost effective technologies, and meeting aggressive schedules to design and test POS systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electronics Engineer capable of demonstrating proficiency throughout the design process with both analog and digital design expertise, able to proficiently design circuits fit for reliable high volume products
- Detailed printed circuit board level analog and digital circuit design, prototype debug, test, and evaluation, and generation of design documentation for transfer to production
- Able to review and interpret circuit design to identify possible weakness and performance issues
- Good knowledge and skill in electronic part operation and attributes
- Support product reliabilities teams from time to time to determine root cause analysis on any electrical operation issues.
- This position will also have expanded duties supporting into Product Development and must be able to demonstrate project management skills and possess a strong personal commitment to creating truly innovative work.
- Usable knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and rapid prototyping practices.
- Participates in design reviews upon request.
- Maintains project statuses and updates Marketing and Management on the deliverables. Provides weekly status reports to manager.
- Adheres to performance and productivity standards established by manager.
- Works well within a team environment, focusing upon the good of the collective group and company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Possess a BSEE minimum, MSEE preferred, with 5 years electronics design experience.
Familiarity with Schematic capture and printed circuit board design methodology is required.
Knowledge of Schematic and PWB CAD systems considered beneficial.
Electronic circuit design.
Direct work of other electronics and mechanical design engineers and technicians.
Contribute to new business development.
Contribute to project planning and management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:
Work is performed onsite on PC workstations in a standard engineering environment. Computer literate, with knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel.
Digital logic design and embedded microcontroller design.
Some travel within the U.S. and outside the U.S. will be required, though limited.
