Sr Engineer, Network (TS w/SCI) Job in Ft Campbell 42223, Kentucky US

This position is located in our KY, Ft Campbell facility

Provides operations and maintenance support to the USSOCOM Wide Area Network (WAN) and associated telecommunications infrastructure and SCAMPI systems. Candidate will ensure full interoperability and seamless connectivity between all SCAMPI garrison and tactical systems; operate and maintain wide area networks between designated sites at various levels of security classification.

Responsibilities:
- Providing necessary services required for maintaining the HQUSSOCOM garrison and OCONUS SCAMPI equipment and SDN-L/M gateways
- Monitor and maintain network connectivity throughout the SOF Information Enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Support all VPN services, to include the provision, monitoring, and management of methods for remote users and mission partners to securely connect to the NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS, to include dedicated site-to-site VPN connectivity on a shared public IP network
- Analyzes, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks
- Manages the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks
- Provides integration and administration of network encryption devices
- Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
- Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
- Provides advice and training to end-users. Troubleshoots and resolves complex network related problems

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
- ITIL v3 Foundations
Direct Experience will be considered in lieu of advanced degree on a case-by-case basis.

Desired:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is highly desired
- ITIL v3 Intermediate Certification

- Minimum 6 years experience in the LAN/WAN administration

Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of SCAMPI equipment, SDN-L/M gateways, and network encryption devices.
- Advanced and specialized training in networks/systems administration/network administration
- Demonstrated proficiency in layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing;
- Demonstrated proficiency in EIGRP, STP, VTP, ACLs, and Layer 3 tunnels and must understand how to monitor network devices to perform fault and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with military deployed environments
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support of routers and switches
- Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
- Understand change management procedures to include scheduling outages in advance with the Government and coordinating with impacted sites/functions
- Respond to trouble calls and be able to determine and implement appropriate fix action and document all actions in accordance with established policies

Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting background in networking and communications equipment
- Tech Control skills
- Strong communication skills (written oral)
- Ability to deal with customers at all levels in stressful situations
- Ability to prioritize and dynamically re-task response and recovery actions as situations change
- Recent experience with military cryptographic equipment
- Ability to test/terminate various copper and fiber-optic cabling

- Applicable IT industry-recognized DoDD 8570 certification required
- This position may require shift and weekend work
- This position may require deployments to CONUS and OCONUS locations worldwide, and may include hazardous duty areas
- Deployments can be of a duration of up to 180 days; this position typically deploys on an as-required basis
- The work is typically performed in an office environment and at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment
