An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Sr. Field Service Specialist within the Refinery Inspection Services Group of UOP's ESE (Engineering, Services Equipment) unit located in Des Plaines, IL. This position plays an integral role in supporting UOP's licensees and intellectual property, by traveling to our customers refineries and petrochemical plants, or to vendor fabrication shops for the purpose of assessing the mechanical integrity of the process equipment and verifying conformance to UOP customer and code specifications. Position Responsibilities: Will conduct physical inspections requiring climbing up, crawling through and walking on pressure vessels, storage tanks and piping either at the process plant or in fabrication shops. Will assess equipment condition, issue repair recommendations, verify suitable completion of the repairs, and forecast future repairs or replacement of equipment during plant turnarounds. Conduct shop inspections of equipment occur during all stages of fabrication to ensure compliance to UOP Standard Specifications, customer requirements, engineering specifications and all applicable industry codes. Write inspection summary reports using UOP's computer generated forms on a supplied laptop computer. Deliver effective presentation of results to the customer at meetings is frequently required.
