Job Description:
This is a field service position for the Motion Control Business Unit. Experience in CNC or PC based Automation is required. Candidate must have strong electronic, PC skills and a willingness to travel 90% of time through the U.S. Customer skills are essential along with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Providing customer service and fostering customer relationships is essential to success in this position.

All qualified candidates MUST have the following experience:
1. Commissioning, preventive maintenance, emergency response, consulting, warranty, repair and technical direction on industrial electrical equipment.
2. Experience with equipment and systems that may include: Low and Medium Voltage AC and DC drives; machine tools, PLC, NC, CNC, Automation and other industrial equipment.
3. Experience working with electrical measurement equipment including; multimeters, meggers, and various other electrical test equipment
4. Ability to read and understand electrical plans, specifications, drawings, and installation schematics.
5. Familiarity with electrical safety procedures including NFPA70E and OSHA regulations and the ability to follow safety procedures.
6. Ability to manage calibration and maintenance of assigned test equipment.
7. Must be self motivated and be able to lead a team of engineers and technicians to accomplish a project according to set guidelines.
8. Must be available to work weekends and Holidays which will be determined by customer demand.
9. Ability to support our Level 3 services which requires expertise for the solution of problems requiring unique or specialized process experience and know how.

Not required but would be a plus:
1. NC Programming embedded PLC programming experience
2. Siemens experience with the 840D controller desired.
3. Knowledge of Siemens HMI's and Profibus communication.

Job Family Responsibilities:

Performs complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls. Performs complex product and service training to customers. Performs complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents of all inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Performs complex service calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution. Performs assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements. May participate in the negotiation and administration of service contracts.

Responsibilities:

Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more difficult and complex. Refers only most complex, unusual problems to others.Performs complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls. Performs complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Performs complex service or systems calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution. Performs assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements. May participate in the negotiation and administration of service or systems contracts.

Education:

Typically an Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge and Experience:

Successfully demonstrates thorough/ advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area. Generally, 5-8 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Direction of Others:

May provide general guidance to others and train lower level employees.
