Description

The Sr. Financial / Business Intelligence Analyst position is responsible for the implementation of COGNOS in the Accounting area and various other Financial analytical duties.  Implementation of COGNOS includes working with outside contactors to design the framework and various other reports such as CKJ Package, Magnitude and In House Cost. This position requires specialized training in report writing in order to fulfill CKNA needs.  This position is also responsible for month end / year end analytical duties such as identifying issues between budget and actual, working with EY and various other responsibilities.

  1. Develop and oversee project plan for COGNOS implementation.
  2. System Design – Working with outside contactors to build the framework and load the required data.
  3. Work closely with CIS in order to identify hardware / system inefficiencies and make recommendations for enhancements.
  4. Work closely with Mexico team to ensure COGNOS reporting between companies stays in sync.
  5. Identification of additional data fields that need loaded into COGNOS for report writing capabilities.
  6. Report Writing – Create and Design additional reports in Accounting for various reporting requirements. 
  7. Understand CKNA business needs, current system process flows and translation of those needs into a vision for creating new and streamlined business rules within the entire organization.
  8. Work with other departments such as Sales and Purchasing to identify their needs and assist with development outside the Accounting area.
  9. Maintains a working knowledge of all regulatory rules, accounting principles and adherence to JSOX requirements.
  10. Month end variance analysis as it relates to sales, material and overheads comparing  budget and prior months trend analysis.
  11. Review and analyze sales and material budgets for reasonableness and accuracy.
  12. Handles day to day activities and projects with little or no supervision – This position is highly project related and deals primarily with upper management and cost related analyticals.
  13. Responsible for using BI Warehouse knowledge and improving Finance area reporting time through automation.

Required Skills

Experience working with ERP systems, Microsoft Office and COGNOS .
