Sr. Financial Analyst-Financial Planning Job in New York, New York US


The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning tracks and analyzes a breadth of financial data related primarily to the revenue streams within the business. This individual performs long-term forecasting and analysis, and works with middle and senior management to help AETN set and achieve its revenue targets.

-Affiliate Sales Forecasting, and Long-Term Planning: Assist in managing and updating complex models that integrate affiliate distribution deals into a quarterly and 5-year financial forecast; Compare paid and billed information to forecasts and note variances; Gather subscriber, revenue and expense data for models. Assist in projecting subscribers, revenue, and marketing support for all networks based on past performance and upcoming negotiations; Assist in deal analyses related to affiliate renewals; Assist in planning contingencies as necessary.

-Advertising Sales Tracking and Forecasting: Manage and update weekly advertising pacing reports, and quarterly sales reports that track ad sales performance by driver; Use these reports to identify key changes in the business; Keep management informed of major changes and assist in creating forecasts and 5-year plans.

-* Accounting Liaison: Provide accounting department with advertising and affiliate schedules during the monthly close; help accounting group understand affiliate deals and track and report them accurately.

-Ad hoc Analysis: Review financial components of affiliate proposals and contracts and provide feedback; assist in creating and maintaining models that analyze proposals during negotiations; assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling; assist in building reports and presentations that frame findings and conclusions.

-Analytical Research: Track industry wide advertising and distribution trends and forecasts; note potential impacts on AETN; Update Executive Fact Book schedules that track AETN'S current and historical performance.

Required Experience:
-Experienced Excel and Powerpoint user; understands accounting and financial principles; is comfortable working with large amounts of data; is high energy, detail oriented and a critical thinker.
-2-4 years working in finance or accounting in an analytical role, 2-4 years working in finance for a media company, particularly affiliate sales.
-Attention to detail, ability to think independently, idea creation and execution.

Required Education:
BS/BA in finance, accounting or a related field. (MBA preferred).
