Sr. Financial Analyst Job in Los Angeles 90038, California US

The Sr. Financial Analyst of Construction Accounting role is responsible for timely and accurate reporting including responsibilities for project cost tracking, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow, audit and research and communication with project managers on project status and payment approvals.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
* Responsible for construction cost tracking, analysis and reporting, including the process, review, tracking, and general ledger accounting of construction costs for multiple projects.
* Perform/review construction in progress and design work order account reconciliations.
* Ensure policy and procedures are in place for construction projects, including general accounting, payroll, contract administration, accounts payable, job costing and approvals.
* Provide fixed asset accounting information for appropriate useful life and placed in service dates.
* Calculate project management (general contracting) fees and allocate payroll costs to projects.
* Performs audit of costs, ensuring accuracy and pro-active identification of potential budget over-runs on projects and timely closure of completed projects.
* Prepare Corporate and management reports.
* Oversee development/enhancement of project reporting and analysis and generate cash flow reports for senior management as needed.
* Assist with preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts.
* Communicate with project managers, vendors and external parties to manage costs.
* Interface with senior management on all aspects of construction accounting.
* Interacts regularly with all departments involved in construction process including Planning, Contract   Administration, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and General Ledger Accounting.
* Assist with special projects as requested.

Qualifications/Skills

Basic qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with strong GAAP expertise
* Minimum of 3-5 years progressive reporting and accounting experience
* Proven construction accounting experience
* Experience preparing financial reports and analysis is required
* Microsoft office expertise is required

Desired skills:
* CPA or public company experience a plus but not required
* Aptitude to work with different systems
* Excellent presentation, communication (both oral written) and relationship building skills.
* Highly organized and high level of attention to detail.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
