Sr Financial/Economic Analyst – Financial Market Infrastructure – Markets recruitment
Responsibilities
- Prepare memos to Bank and System senior management regarding the evolving risks to and innovations in global financial infrastructures
- Present detailed complex analysis to senior policy makers and Federal Reserve officials regarding recommendations
- Collaborate with other FRBNY and Board of Governors colleagues in cross-disciplinary projects to understand how trading or post-trade infrastructures could impact financial market behavior and risk taking across various asset classes and financial market products
- Analyze data across a wide range of areas such as trading or settlement volumes
- Liaise with MOMA management and staff to ensure FMI work is integrated effectively into MOMA core products.
Skills
- Graduate degree in economics, finance, business, public policy, or a related field
- A minimum four years of financial markets experience
- Familiarity with trading or post-trade financial market infrastructures such as exchanges or clearing houses or with trade settlement processes would be a plus
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team, including with colleagues located in different areas and not under your direct supervision, and independently
- Sound organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, financial market infrastructures, and risk management
- Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to articulate complex issues succinctly and to arrive at sound conclusions
This position requires access to FOMC information, which is limited to 'Protected Individuals' as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization and U.S. permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so.{/i}
