Only with that kind of dedication and energy can they succeed. As our Senior Footwear Designer for the adidas Innovation Team, you'll be expected to bring your own MVP performance to the tasks below. Purpose: Develop creative concepts, design market leading products and appropriate high value innovations, which improve brand competitiveness through design and product leadership, and enables adidas to deliver added value to consumers and athletes. Key Responsibilities: Develop in cooperation with appropriate ait project Team(s), relevant technologies, construction ideas and patterns through samples ensuring function and manufacturability. Create stories, explore and develop new performance innovations, and incorporate research results in building unique market leading product design and concepts, which are based on athletes` and consumers` needs. Be at the global forefront of design trends, and be innovative in their application. Own and Co-ordinate the creative process to make sure that the final products meet both ait and BU commercial and image objectives. Execute, lead and drive defined project(s) creatively via ait Design. Collaborate with In-Line(as needed) to ensure innovations are integrated into ranges and long term product plans. Ensure sufficient service to product management and development. Essential Duties Responsibilities: Translate ait and BU strategies by acting as the performance innovation conscience for the company, defining and incorporating Technologies into differentiated and distinctive design languages to fulfil or exceed our customers` expectations. Design (this includes concept exploration, concept illustration, hand sketches, renderings, technical drawings and "techpacks", colour concepts, story boards, graphic solutions, etc...) Collect and share relevant information needed to effectively design, inform and inspire. This should include all possible sources to gain this information: - Trade publications, trade fairs, sport events general interest press, trend services, fashion sportswear magazines store checks, market visits, team travel professional and amateur athletes, as well as your own expertise universities, internal and external researchers manufacturing process and material developments Communicate effectively with internal and external resources to maintain product development efficiency, submit all relevant information needed for the development process such as sketches, detail sketches and sections, fabrics, colour-ways and artwork... Travel as needed to solve design and development issues at the respective factories and development centres. Requisite Education: BA or MA in Industrial Design / Sport Performance design or comparable education Proficient Computer skills on Apple Mac or PC (Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop, CAD) Exposure / Experience with 3D programs is preferred (Rhino, Alias) Footwear / Apparel / Accessories / Sportswear product knowledge High level of creativity and determination Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in innovative Product / Footwear / Advanced Product / Apparel design Good communication and presentation skills Fluent in English adidas founder, Adi Dassler, was inspired by a single idea when he made his first shoes, at the age of just 20: to provide every athlete with the best footwear for his or her respective discipline.
