Sr. Geological Advisor

Sr. Geological Advisor - EPT

POSITION SUMMARY : The candidate for this position will be responsible, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, for the technologies, tasks and work flows aimed at understanding the subsurface aspects of unconventional reservoirs and optimizing the assessment and development of these reservoirs. Working with business units, final team deliverables will include Work flows to better describe and predict reservoir behavior New analytical and simulation based prediction tools Identification and verification of required lab tests for model input Improved surveillance techniques - production tracers, microseismic, etc Assistance with unconventional resource acquisitions (SWATs) and TARs An important aspect of this role is the identification and/or developed of state-of-the-art techniques, tools and concepts for assessing unconventional reservoirs. Additionally, the candidate will work with Hess staff and project teams through evaluation of subsurface data and interpretations, modeling risk and uncertainty in the subsurface. As a member of an integrated team, and with responsibility for technical support for unconventional resource teams across the value chain, the candidate will demonstrate superior skills in multi-tasking, team-working, and communication. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Enhance and develop geologic techniques and workflows to unconventional resource plays across the Value Chain Perform geoscience integration and draw upon experts in structural geology, petroleum systems, biostratigraphy and depositional systems Gather, understand, synthesize, and contribute technical knowledge internally and externally Assist in constructing discrete fracture network models Assist in monitoring fracture stimulation containment (particularly fracture height) through micro-seismic Assist in unconventional resource assessment and workflows Mentor junior geoscientists
