Responsibilities

The Bouv College Research Office serves as the major resource to the Colleges faculty, researchers and staff. The Sr. Grants Administrator (Post-award), reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Research, is responsible for organizing, and implementing operations in the Research Office. This persons primary responsibility is to provide assistance in the management of federal grant proposals and grant budgets, to assist principal investigators in the administration of research grants and to communicate with faculty, researchers and staff regarding grant related policies, activities, and procedures that those involved with grants should be familiar with. This individual will assist PIs in the maintenance of budgets, reporting on a monthly basis to all faculty and alerting faculty of impending deadlines. A primary role is to serve as liaison with Research Administration and Finance (RAF) and colleagues at multiple institutions.
The Sr. Grants Administrator (Post-award) is responsible for supervising other research office staff (including students), participating with the Associate Dean of Research in revising budgets, and is responsible for the daily allocation and expenditure of those budgets. Responsibilities also include coordinating committees; channeling communications among faculty, College committees (e.g., Research committees), and various research-related offices, the College/School Deans, and other administrative units; and maintaining official research documents and history.
Among the jobs challenges are developing a comprehensive knowledge of the research needs of faculty of the College, communicating effectively with all levels of College faculty, administration and staff members, and facilitating the Colleges research operations.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and 4 - 6 years accounting experience with 2 years experience in post-award grant administration, preferably in an academic setting with broad understanding of academic operations and research required. Masters degree preferred. Experience with grant/contracts administration is required.
Demonstrated administrative, organizational, communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience maintaining confidential materials. Responsible approach to decision-making; takes initiative and works independently. Experience with budgets; strong computer skills including thorough familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, database software applications.
