Description
Develops functional strategy for own function or organizational unit. Implement strategic plans in area managed. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to company-wide policies. Leader in implementing and providing input to risk management practices throughout function(s). Ensures functional awareness of risk management in day-to-day responsibilities. Determines organizational structures and allocation of subordinate management responsibilities. Knows and functions as a change leader in the efficient management of operations including product, technical systems, procedures, and workflow of a significant and/or multi-faceted function(s). Knows the vision and mission of the organization and the mission of key customer organizations and how they complement one another. Responsible for decisions that may have long term impact on company assets and/or resources; individual judgment required to make decisions within parameters. Regularly interacts with senior level management internally and externally. Interactions normally involve complex situations, client negotiations or influencing and persuading other senior level directors. Manages complex client relationships and represents BNY Mellon to clients. Manages the recruitment, retention and performance of senior managers in the function or organizational unit. Develops reward allocation objectives. Manages reward allocation for direct reports. Supports and implements BNY Mellon's Human Resource policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Typically responsible for managing one or more functions that span multiple, cross-functional disciplines; may also entail responsibilities across multiple sites. Typically reports to a Managing Director and is either the third or fourth level down from the CEO. Typically has 12+ years of related business experience with 10+ years of management experience. Requires detailed functional expertise and broad company knowledge.
