We are currently looking for an experienced Sr. Healthcare Data Analyst to assist a variety of departments with their data information needs.  This position will be responsible for analyzing medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility data, and external data using SAS and/or SQL programming.  Must understand the business need, define deliverables, and perform necessary data manipulation and aggregation to efficiently produce and concisely communicate deliverables.  The Sr. Analyst will also mentor other analysts in defining methodologies and coding to improve efficiency and accuracy.

 

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:

·         B.S. in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Health Economics or related analytic field

·         M.S. preferred

·         6+ years experience performing analytics/health economics/informatics in health care environment using medical claims data

·         Demonstrated experience retrieving data from relational data base systems and creating summary results, preferably using SAS and/or SQL

·         Knowledge of common healthcare utilization and cost metrics

·         Knowledge of common health provider and facility reimbursement methodologies used by payers

·         Knowledge of medical coding: ICD9 Diagnoses and Procedures, CPT4 procedures, Revenue codes

·         Familiarity with claims adjudication and adjustment methods are a plus.

·         Strong oral and written communication skills

·         Advanced SAS data manipulation skills

·         Intermediate ability using SQL

·         Bi- or Multi- lingual skills (written and verbal) a plus

·         Manage competing deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
