Sr. Manager, HR Greenplum, a division of EMC This position is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support for Greenplum, a division of EMC, including resource optimization, employee relations and organizational development. We seek a strong HR Business Partner with strong experience supporting field based employees. Greenplum is the leader in Big Data Analytics. The division has responsibility for its own PL and the HR team provides global support to all functions: Sales, Pre-Sales, Professional Services, RD, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance. This role will provide a unique opportunity to support employees in all functions. Greenplum is the fastest growing division in EMC and it still maintains much of its entrepreneurial culture that has enabled its success. The division has tripled its headcount in the last 18-months and it will double in the next 12-months. This role will play an active role in developing the global headcount plan, executing on recruiting strategies, manage the global headcount reporting, as well as supporting HR programs and policies, often encompassing several areas of HR, including organizational development, operations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, or training. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: · The HR Manager will be expected to interpret policy to provide direction and counsel to the most senior members of the management team as well as non-management staff using creative and practical solutions to proactively anticipate, prevent and resolve HR issues. Responsibilities include providing professional consultation and HR support for the client organization. · Contributes to the support and implementation of corporate-wide policies, procedures, systems and initiatives. · Work with the Senior Director, Human Resources to provide effective coaching on variety of HR-related topics to all levels of management and staff. · Program management in areas including employee performance, development and succession planning, stock option planning, and annual compensation review. · Provide individual and group training in areas related to employee performance and development. · Provide guidance to client groups with respect to ER issues and interpretation of policy. · Develop retention strategies. · Counsel employees on performance issues. · Provide managers with feedback from their employees and advise on best course of action to deal with problems. · Support Greenplum?s acquisition strategy. Required Skills: · Bachelor?s degree and MBA preferred · Minimum of 10+ years of experience as an HR business partner. · Experience in the high tech industry supporting a technical client base. · Strong project management skills. · Strong analytical skills. · High energy and superb follow-through. · Must have excellent judgment and conflict management skills. · Must be comfortable working through ambiguous situations and advising senior management on appropriate course of action. · Must have ability to influence at all levels. · Excellent ability to communicate, both in writing and verbally. · Strong organization skills, comprehensive tact and discretion. · Understanding of business environment. · Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge.
